# Content Update

\
The Hotel Content Database (HCD) is a database containing property information and images for distribution to online partners through the DHISCO ADS (Alternate Distribution Systems) environment and to GDS (Global\
Distribution Systems) environments. The HCD XML Update Interface includes two methods of updating this data, a batch process and an XML transaction interface.

\
The purpose of this document is to act as a reference guide for customers who wish to build applications to use the Hotel Content Database (HCD) Update Interface. This guide will provide the necessary information for updating information currently stored in the HCD, as well as creating new property records and adding new types of property information. This guide describes the message types used to perform inbound processing, the business rules associated to the message types and the interface details for each supported message type.

\
The data stored in HCD will then be delivered to our ADS partners and the GDSs (for subscribers to the ContentHubservice). Files and/or messages are transmitted from each participating customer to DHISCO to provide their\
property details, which are then stored in the HCD and subsequently with the ADS partners and in the GDSs.

\
**Distribution**\
This document is intended for distribution to DHISCO personnel and their customers utilizing the HCD XML Update Interface. Distribution of this document to other parties without the prior consent of DHISCO is prohibited.
