# XML ultradirect specifications

The UltraDirect transaction interface is used to connect with hotel central reservation systems through the RateGain Switch for checking rates and availability and making bookings in real time. UltraDirect is also connected to the RateGain Hotel Content Database, which provides detailed property information and images.

UltraDirect supports:

* Fast, immediate confirmation of booking and cancellation requests.
* Easily make changes to reservations without a cancellation or rebooking.
* Secure access to negotiated rates.
* Flexible and customizable XML transaction interface that allows complete control of the process flow and how the information is presented to end users.
* Powerful property search capabilities, including by keyword, address, or airport code.
* Access to weekly and monthly transaction reports.

This document is intended to provide the information required to implement an interface to XML UltraDirect services.
